Actor Yoo Ah is under investigation for using propofol, netizens react
On February 8, the TV Chosun news agency reported that a popular actor is currently under police investigation for using propofol.
Propofol belongs to the class of drugs called hypnotics or anesthetics. It is illegal to use outside of surgical procedures.
In addition, the outlet reported that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency subpoenaed and investigated Yoo Ah In on Feb. 6 for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Many were particularly shocked to learn that the police had forbidden Yoo Ah In to leave the country.
Police are currently requesting an examination of Yoo Ah In’s hair at the National Institute for Scientific Investigation to determine if he was habitually taking propofol.
In response to this report, Yoo Ah In’s agency, United Artists Agency (UAA), released the following official statement, confirming that the actor was recently under investigation:
“This is UA.
Recently, Yoo Ah In was the subject of a police investigation regarding propofol.
He is actively cooperating with any investigation into this matter and we plan to proactively address any problem areas.
We apologize for the concern. »
